My name is Destiny Nichols and I am the owner and founder of Blue Magnolia Boutique. Owning a boutique has always been a dream of mine. The love of fashion and all things clothing has always been such an obsession. (But really, if you knew me even prior to this… you know my wardrobe has always been on overload). I knew about two years ago this is something I wanted to pursue, so I poured my whole heart into it. Knowing absolutely nothing about starting my own business, I started this all from the ground up solely.
I’ve always worked in dentistry. About a year ago, I was selling my home and had a huge life changing moment. I ended up having to leave a job I cared for, and started a new dental job even closer to my new home. With that life move, it gave me every motive to start my own dream come true. In November 2022, Blue Magnolia Boutique went live and has been full throttle since.
Owning your own business is HARD WORK, y’all. I never thought owning a “boutique” would be so much more than it is. It isn’t always pretty clothes and cute accessories. It’s the late nights you pour in, the hours you spend finding trends, uploading inventory, packing orders, shipping orders, thank you notes, replying to messages, photo shoots, branding, social media content.. I mean the list goes on and on. It’s also the what ifs. What is I fail? What if people don’t like my products? What if the closest people I have to me, doesn’t even support me? It’s the stuff people don’t see that makes your business thrive; because the truth is we all fear failure, so we work extra hard to be successful.
I never thought I’d have the love and army of support that I do now. You all keep me busy and I couldn’t be ANY more thankful than I am. One year ago I would’ve never dreamt to be where I am right now. I have made so many friends and relationships with people I never even knew before this, and grown closer to ones I’ve known for years.
To bring this to an end.. if you’ve ever supported my small business, please don’t ever think it has went unnoticed. Even a facebook share or referring a friend really goes a long way. I think I can speak for any small business owner, really. You all are the rock and foundation of this all. We couldn’t do it without you.
